The Rev. William (Bill) Allport will be at St. Helena's on Sunday, May 23, 2010 and will serve as the 13th rector of St. Helena's.
   Bill has moved 19 times across the U.S. & Latin America, including 10 years of congregational and diocesan youth ministry and the past eight years as a priest.  He graduated from Dickinson College and Virginia Theological Seminary.  Bill has served in congregations in Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, and Hawaii, guiding the establishment of a “church within a church,” creating a national internship program for young adults preparing for leadership in the church, creating a weekly community prayer breakfast for public school students, and initiating new models of metropolitan ministry and alternative worship experiences in urban areas.
   With his wife Carrie, Bill co-founded the Meat & Potatoes Ministry Collective providing curricula and resources for congregations, retreats and conferences; consulting relationships for congregations and leaders; and guest speaking, preaching, and consultation.  Bill and  Carrie have sojourned with communities and conference groups in California, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Southern Virginia, Texas, and Hawaii.
   Bill is fervent in his desire for the Church to be a community on Mission with Jesus Christ, sharing the Kingdom of God through the greatness of the Anglican heritage, with the vibrancy of contemporary vernaculars, expressing the integrity of our faith with authenticity and hospitality.
   Bill loves Jesus, his wife, and his two daughters.

Palm Sunday, March 28:  7:45 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m.
Monday, March 29:  Stations of the Cross open in the Great Room all day, 12:10 p.m. Holy Eucharist in the Sanctuary.
Tuesday, March 30:  Stations of the Cross open all day, 12:10 p.m. Holy Eucharist in the Sanctuary.
Wednesday, March 31: Stations of the Cross open all day, 10 a.m. Rite I service in the Sanctuary, 12:10 p.m. Holy Eucharist in the Sanctuary.
Thursday, April 1: Maundy Thursday, Seder Meal in the Parish Hall at 5:45 p.m.  Worship & stripping of altar, with footwashing at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Good Friday, April 2: Worship services at 7 a.m. and 12:10 p.m., 12:10 service followed by Stations of the Cross in the Great Room.
Holy Saturday, April 3: Easter service of candlelight and Baptism at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Easter Sunday, April 4: Worship at 7:15 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m.

 Lenten Dinner for Wednesday, March 17: Men’s Fellowship’s Chili and cornbread, salad and dessert. A presentation by Quinn Leidecker of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wimberley will follow dinner. We will share with us the story of St. Stephen’s Jubilee Sunday and how it allows a church to let their light shine all around them.
